Basic plan tool
Backlink Checker
Enter a website and see how many backlinks it has, how many referring domains link to it and which of the strongest linking pages can actually be indexed by Google. We open each page to check for noindex, robots.txt blocks, canonical tags and whether the link is still there, and we search Google to see whether the page is really in its index.

What it checks
What this tool looks at
Backlink totals
Backlinks, linking pages and referring domains, with the split between followed and nofollow links and any broken backlinks.
The strongest links
A sample of the highest-ranking linking pages, one per domain, with the anchor text and link type.
Can each page be indexed?
We open every sampled page and check that it loads, is not noindex, is not blocked by robots.txt, is not canonicalized elsewhere and still shows your link. Then we search Google to see which of those pages are really indexed.
How to use it
Three steps
Enter a website
A domain such as example.com. Subdomains are included.
We load the data
Totals and a sample of the strongest links come from a backlink index.
Review the index status
Pages that are noindex or blocked are links search engines are unlikely to count.
Good to know
- No backlink database covers the whole web, so totals are an estimate and brand-new links may be missing.
- “Can be indexed” means the page is allowed to be indexed. For the first pages in the sample we also search Google with a site: query. A page missing from that search may still be indexed or may just be new, so confirm important pages in Google Search Console.
- The page checks cover a sample of the strongest links (one per domain), not every backlink.
- Links added by JavaScript may show as not found, because we read the page the way a simple crawler does.
- Each account can run a limited number of checks per day.
FAQ
Questions about this tool
What is a backlink?
A link from another website to yours. Links from relevant, trusted pages that search engines index can help your pages rank, while links from noindex or removed pages add little.
Why check whether the linking page is indexed?
A link on a page that search engines do not index is unlikely to pass any ranking credit. Finding noindex or unindexed pages helps you decide which links are worth keeping or replacing.
Can this tool get my backlinks indexed?
No tool can force Google to index a page on someone else’s website. We show which links are indexed and why others are not, and what you can do about each one. Methods that promise to index any link instantly, such as link farms, mass pinging or paid indexers, are unreliable and can put your site at risk.
Can I check a competitor’s backlinks?
Yes. Backlinks are public. Please use the tool only for sites you own or have a legitimate reason to review.
Where does the data come from?
Backlink totals and the link sample come from a third-party backlink index. We then open the sampled pages ourselves for the index checks. We do not store the website you enter beyond a short cache of the results.
