What it checks
What this tool looks at
The listing itself
Phone, website, address, primary category, opening hours and photos, and whether Google shows the business as open.
Reviews and rating
How many reviews the profile has and its average rating, with advice on getting and answering reviews the right way.
Website and local signals
Whether the website loads on HTTPS, shows the same phone number and has LocalBusiness or Organization schema. We also look at the business’s local search position.
How to use it
Three steps
Enter the business and city
Use the name as customers know it.
We find the listing
We look it up on Google Maps and check the website it links to.
Fix the gaps
Start with the failed checks, then the warnings.
Good to know
- It scores what is public. Only the owner can see posts, Q&A, services and products, messages and insights, so those are not part of the score.
- Some fields, such as photos and opening hours, may not be visible depending on the data source, and those checks are then left out.
- If several businesses share a name, we audit the best match and list the others. Add the city to be precise.
- The score is a guide to what to improve, not a ranking prediction. Each account can run a limited number of audits per day.
FAQ
Questions about this tool
What is a Google Business Profile?
The free listing that shows your business on Google Search and Google Maps, with your contact details, hours, photos and reviews. It is the main driver of local search visibility.
Can I audit a competitor’s profile?
Yes. The tool reads the public listing, so you can check any business. It is a good way to see what the top local results do that you do not.
Why does it check the website?
Google compares your listing with your website. When the name, address and phone number agree and the site uses structured data, the listing is easier to trust and understand.
Where does the data come from?
From Google Maps data supplied by a data service. We do not scrape Google ourselves and we do not store the business name you search for beyond a short cache of the public listing.
